Sunset Behind The Bridge
PreviousNext
Won Honorable Mention from the New York Institute of Photography's "Bridges" contest. Here's what they said:
"Here's a quintessential bridge at sunset photograph, this one taken by Christopher Kosegarten of Newport, RI. Two things make this picture stand out. First, the bridge is placed unevenly in the photograph so that the far left edge of the span runs off into the corner of the image, while the right side of the bridge is just above the opposite corner of the frame. This gives a sense of depth to the picture that you wouldn't have if the bridge ran horizontally straight across the frame. But what really sets this picture apart is the fact that Christopher exposed for this scene so that the suspension bridge would not be completely silhouetted against the sunset. As a result you can still make out the tiny lights along the cables and towers and even see the lights of two cars travelling across the span."
